Mens

Mens is a special gift book that I created together with Trodessa Barton. It is a book for adults about grief and loss, but also about hope, resilience and a positive outlook on life. Making this book was more than a creative challenge for me; it was a healing step in my own process, after the loss of my brother.

For the illustrations I deliberately chose two PMS (spot) colours. Stepping away from my familiar black-and-white style felt like a personal breakthrough. The colours in this book symbolise a new phase in my life, one in which I make room for light, warmth and the beauty of change.

Mens touches on deep emotions, but also invites you to find comfort and beauty in the small moments. It is my hope that this book offers a safe place for anyone dealing with grief and loss – a place where sorrow and joy may go hand in hand.
